DESCRIPTION:BE A PART OF HISTORY WITH 7\,000 GUITAR PLAYERS! On May 27th\, 2010\, at 7:00pm an attempt will be made to break the World Record for the Largest Guitar Ensemble. The record that held for the last 7 months was set in Texas\, USA in August 2009 at 1867 guitarists. A new record has just been posted (February 26th\, 2010) at 6346 guitarists in Poland in May 2009. Globally\, there are always groups vying for the guitar record. The venue for the event is the General Motors Centre in Oshawa\, Ontario. This facility has the capacity to hold over 7\,000 guitar players. Event organizers are pushing to fill this arena to capacity. The regulations state that a song must be played in unison for 5 minutes. The song \'Takin\' Care of Business\' was chosen as the rhythm section is simply played on the guitar. The event is open to all guitar players willing to travel to Oshawa. DESCRIPTION:Valentino’s Grande Salon is proudly presenting a fundraiser to support the Reid family in their journey of Liam’s Fight for Sight. It is to be held at the Ajax Convention Center on March 22nd\, 2010.  Liam Kristopher Reid was born Thursday\, June 18th\, 2009 at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital. He was born with PHPV\, leaving him with no vision. There is an experimental procedure available in the United States that offers hope for his sight\, but your help is needed as the surgery is not covered by OHIP. Valentino’s is hosting this event in support of the Reid family who would otherwise be unable to give Liam the chance at sight.Tickets are still availalble to be purchased at Valentino\'s (210 Brock Street South) at $50 each. The gala includes a fashion show\, silent and live auction\, live entertainment and more.
